  1. Go See Your Favorite Artist/Live Concert

Colorado, Denver in particular, is a hot-spot for concerts. Chances are when you’re in town, so is one of your favorite artists or bands. Bandsintown is a great website to see exactly what concerts are playing and where. Denver, Colorado is home to the Pepsi Center, Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Marquis Theater, Summit Music Hall, Fillmore Auditorium and sometimes you can see a concert at Mile High Stadium which has hosted Taylor Swift & Metallica recently, for example. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is the only completely natural amphitheater in the world and an awesome spot to see a concert. Take advantage of the fact that Denver hosts many live music events and see if you can catch a show when visiting!

  1. Sports! Take me out to the ball game.

Even if you’re not big into sports, seeing a live game in Denver is something that should be on your list depending on the time of year you visit. The Colorado Rockies play at Coors Field, located in downtown Denver, and even if you’re not big into baseball their rooftop bar is something for everyone. Tickets start at $15 for entry to the rooftop bar and include a $6 concession credit (FREE BEER). Or if you buy actual seats, The Rooftop is open to all Coors Field ticketed visitors. The Denver Nuggets (basketball) play at the Pepsi Center, the Denver Broncos (football) play at Mile High Stadium, and the Colorado Avalanche (hockey) also play at the Pepsi Center.

  1. The Aquarium

A must-see if visiting Denver is The Denver Downtown Aquarium. Go see the spectacular marine life located right in Denver. The aquarium has a total of nine exhibits featuring marine life from different parts of the world and ecosystems. These include: wharf, beach, sunken temple, shipwreck, lagoon, rainforest, ocean, desert and North American. Parents, there’s even a bar aside from the restaurants.

  1. 16th Street Mall – Retail Therapy

Head to downtown Denver and check out the 16th street mall. This is a mile-long outside mall with tons of places to shop, eat at and do stuff. There’s a shuttle that comes every few minutes that makes getting around easier, hop on and off at your leisure. The people watching is free by the way. You might catch some entertainers on your stroll down 16th street mall as well but if that doesn’t suffice go catch a movie at the theater.


  1. Cherry Creek Mall – Luxury-Focused Mall

Located right in the heart of Denver, the Cherry Creek Shopping Center is your more traditional mall, you know, inside. Stores include: Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co, Burberry, Neiman Marcus, Tory Burch, Coach, Forever 21, OMEGA, and more! This mall is also the home to a 8 screen AMC movie theater if you’re looking to catch a movie.

  1. Breweries – Beware of Elevation!

Along with being a hotspot for concerts, Colorado is also a craft brewery destination. Some of the hottest breweries are located right in Denver. There’s a phrase people like to repeat to visitors of Denver and that is “Be careful when you drink here”. This is true because of the elevation making one drinking about 2-3x as potent.   1. Museum – Denver Museum of Nature and Science

If you’re into history and science, this is a place for you! A wide range of exhibits, IMAX shows, programs and activities here will help you learn about the natural history of Colorado, Earth and the universe in general. This year’s special exhibit is the Dead Sea Scrolls, from March 16th – September 3rd. This is your opportunity to see authentic Dead Sea Scrolls that are ancient manuscripts from over 2,000 years ago. Set aside about half a day because an hour or two just isn’t going to cut it to see everything the museum has to offer.

Following a 2-year renovation and millions of dollars spent, Confluence Park is back for visitors and locals to enjoy. Great place to go chill, eat outside/picnic, walk and be outdoors without spending money. Located near lower downtown Denver, Confluence Park homes a nice little man-made beach, closest to the beach you’ll get in Denver, Colorado in fact. You might catch some experienced kayakers in the water. Grab ice cream on a hot day! There’s a Starbucks in close vicinity too.
